We’re trying our hand at using corrugated plastic to design lighting elements!

These are a little time consuming to make, but worth the effort to have bells accompany the Carol of the Bells music in our animation sequence.

Thank goodness no one sees the back of these bells!

Corrugated plastic is pretty easy to work with and can be purchased on Amazon.com. For these bells, we found a general design we liked, projected the image on the corrugated plastic to trace an outline, then used a Dremel tool with a small drill bit to drill 100 holes per bell (plus another 90+ holes for the leaves). Then, we popped in the lights! It’s like a grown-up version of Lite-Brite!

To secure the corrugated plastic to our porch columns we used 3M’s cable tie mounts and zip ties.
